Frequency and types of dermatological side effects of antidepressants

ABSTRACT
Depression is an increasingly common disease that affects people of all ages. Drugs used in the pharmocoligal treatment of this disease are also widely used when other diseases are diagnosed and the treatment is often long-lasting and requires polypragmasia. The aim of the study was to understand the dermatological effects associated with pharmacotherapy with antidepressants. Among the dermatological side effects, skin drying, hair deterioration, drying of mucous membranes and rashes were most commonly reported. A side effect was also weight gain and hyperhidrosis. Skin changes and problems with body weight fluctuations, and increased activity of sweat glands are common consequences of using antidepressants.

STRESZCZENIE
Depresja to coraz częstsza choroba, która dotyczy osób w każdym wieku. Leki stosowane w farmakoterapii tej choroby są szeroko wykorzystywane także w innych wskazaniach, a leczenie jest często długotrwałe i wymaga polipragmazji. Celem badań było poznanie dermatologicznych skutków związanych z farmakoterapią lekami przeciwdepresyjnymi. Wśród dermatologicznych działań niepożądanych najczęściej zgłaszano przesuszanie się skóry, pogorszenie stanu włosów, przesuszanie błon śluzowych o raz wysypki. Skutkiem u bocznym był także wzrost masy ciała oraz nadpotliwość. Zmiany skórne i problemy z wahaniami masy ciała oraz wzmożona praca gruczołów potowych stanowią częstą konsekwencje stosowania leków przeciwdepresyjnych.
