INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS
Aesthetic Cosmetology and Medicine is a peer-reviewed scientific journal publishing articles in the fields of cosmetology, aesthetic medicine, dermatology, skin biology, cosmetic chemistry, active ingredients and formulations, cosmetic technology, skin microbiome research, regenerative and anti-aging therapies, aesthetic procedures and device-based technologies, nutrition and dietetics related to skin health, and other interdisciplinary aspects of cosmetic and aesthetic sciences. The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts: original research articles, review articles, and case reports. All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer-review process.
Manuscript preparation
Manuscripts must be prepared using the official journal templates available for download:
Submissions prepared outside the official journal template may be rejected before peer review (desk rejection). The Editorial Office reserves the right to reject manuscripts before peer review if they do not meet the journal’s scientific, ethical, language, or formatting standards.
The recommended manuscript length should not exceed 15 pages in the journal template format. The maximum recommended number of references is 50 unless otherwise justified by the nature of the manuscript and approved by the Editorial Office. All manuscripts must be prepared in English or Polish using clear and grammatically correct language. However, submission in English is strongly encouraged. Authors are encouraged to provide ORCID identifiers for all co-authors.
Submission requirements
Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively in electronic form as *.doc or *.docx files to: editor@aestheticcosmetology.com
Together with the manuscript, authors are required to submit a completed and signed Authors’ Declaration and Copyright Transfer Agreement available for download: Authors’ Declaration and Copyright Transfer Agreement
Incomplete submissions may be returned to the authors before editorial evaluation.
Originality and publication ethics
Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by another journal. All manuscripts may be screened for plagiarism, duplicate publication, and scientific misconduct. The Editorial Office reserves the right to request raw data, additional files, or documentation supporting the results presented in the manuscript. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce any previously published figures, tables, photographs, or graphical materials.
Ethical requirements
Research involving human participants, animals, biological material, surveys, interviews, or identifiable patient information must comply with relevant ethical standards and regulations. Where applicable, manuscripts should include information regarding ethics committee approval, informed consent, and consent for publication of identifiable data or images. Artificial intelligence policy
The journal does not accept manuscripts in which artificial intelligence tools have been used to generate the scientific content, interpretations, conclusions, or data of the work. If AI tools were used for language editing artificial intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors of a manuscript. If AI tools were used for language editing, formatting assistance, data analysis, or graphical support, authors must clearly disclose this in the manuscript. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and scientific integrity of the submitted work.
Copyright and publishing policy
Upon acceptance for publication, authors grant the Publisher the right to publish, distribute, archive, and make the manuscript available in printed and electronic Open Access form. Authors are not entitled to financial remuneration for published works. The Editorial Office reserves the right to introduce editorial, linguistic, and stylistic corrections without affecting the scientific content of the manuscript. Authors retain the right to use and present published material elsewhere provided that the original source of publication in Aesthetic Cosmetology and Medicine is properly acknowledged.
Article processing charge (APC)
Starting from June 1, 2026, an Article Processing Charge (APC) of 400 EUR applies to all manuscripts submitted on or after this date. Manuscripts submitted before June 1, 2026 will be processed according to the previously applicable conditions. The APC is charged only after the manuscript has successfully completed the peer-review process and received final acceptance for publication. Submission of manuscripts and the peer-review process remain free of charge. The APC covers editorial handling, peer-review management, technical processing, Open Access publication, DOI assignment, and online archiving. Detailed payment instructions will be provided to the corresponding author after final acceptance of the manuscript.
Authors affiliated with Polish institutions may apply for a waiver of the publication fee until the end of August 2026.
