Subcutaneous tissue. Characteristics and methods of reducing and applying adipose tissue in cosmetology and aesthetic medicine

ABSTRACT
The functioning of the subcutaneous tissue is of great importance for the body due to the processes of lipogenesis, lipolysis and hormonal regulation which have an impact on the formation of many health diseases and shaping the body. The excess of adipose tissue and cellulite have contributed to the popularity of surgical and aesthetic treatments that eliminate these problems. The method of using the adipose tissue is the adipose tissue stem cells as an autologous filler for reconstruction of skin defects and modeling the face shape. The aim of the article was to present the structure and physiology of subcutaneous tissue, the related problems – cellulite and diseases – cellulitis, lipodystrophy and methods of reducing adipose tissue with surgical and aesthetic treatments, as well as the use of adipose tissue stem cells in cosmetology and aesthetic medicine. The knowledge of the structure, biological and chemical mechanisms occurring in the subcutaneous tissue allows for implementation of appropriate treatment procedures. Understanding the methods of reducing and using adipose tissue gives the opportunity to achieve therapeutic goals, as well as the maintenance of surgical safety, reducing the risk of complications.

STRESZCZENIE
Funkcjonowanie tkanki podskórnej ma duże znaczenie dla organizmu ze względu na zachodzące w niej procesy lipogenezy, lipolizy i regulację hormonalną, które mają wpływ na powstawanie wielu schorzeń zdrowotnych i kształtowanie ciała. Nadmiar tkanki tłuszczowej i cellulit przyczyniły się do popularności zabiegów chirurgicznych i estetycznych niwelujących te problemy. Sposobem wykorzystania tkanki tłuszczowej są komórki macierzyste tkanki tłuszczowej jako autologiczny wypełniacz do rekonstrukcji ubytków skóry i modelowania kształtów twarzy. Celem artykułu było szczegółowe przedstawienie budowy i fizjologii tkanki podskórnej, związanej z nią problemów cellulitu i schorzeń tj. cellulitis, lipodystrofia oraz metod niwelowania tkanki tłuszczowej zabiegami chirurgicznymi i estetycznymi, a także zastosowania komórek macierzystych tkanki tłuszczowej w kosmetologii i medycynie estetycznej. Znajomość budowy i mechanizmów biologiczno-chemicznych zachodzących w tkance podskórnej pozwalają na wdrożenie odpowiednich procedur zabiegowych. Poznanie metod niwelowania i zastosowania tkanki tłuszczowej daje możliwość osiągnięcia celów terapeutycznych, a także umożliwia zachowanie bezpieczeństwa zabiegowego zmniejszając ryzyko powikłań.
