Current microbiological hazards in beauty salons and guidelines for the procedure

ABSTRACT
The work of a cosmetologist requires direct contact with the client, and thus ensuring each person’s safety in the office. Procedures should protect both the client and the person performing the procedure. The aim of the study was to draw attention to the need to verify the course of action and the procedures in beauty salons and aesthetic medicine due to the introduced pandemic state, which has been associated with the increased number of SARS-CoV-2 virus infections in Poland. Awareness about possible epidemiological threats in beauty salons is increasing. The increased risk of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus has contributed to the verification of current hygiene and sanitary procedures in offices and the development of new guidelines.

STRESZCZENIE
Praca kosmetologa wymaga bezpośredniego kontaktu i niesie ze sobą warunek zapewnienia bezpieczeństwa każdej osobie przebywającej w gabinecie. Procedury postępowania powinny chronić zarówno klienta, jak i osobę wykonującą zabieg. Celem pracy było zwrócenie uwagi na potrzebę weryfikacji postępowania i procedur w gabinetach kosmetycznych i medycyny estetycznej ze względu na wprowadzony stan pandemii związany ze zwiększoną liczbą zakażeń wirusem SARS-CoV-2 w Polsce. Świadomość na temat możliwych zagrożeń epidemiologicznych w gabinetach kosmetycznych wzrasta. Podwyższony stopień zagrożenia koronawirusem SARS-CoV-2 przyczynił się do weryfikacji dotychczasowych procedur higieniczno-sanitarnych w gabinetach oraz wypracowania nowych wytycznych.
