Contact allergies in cosmetology – risk identification and prevention guidelines

ABSTRACT
Allergies represent one of the major health challenges in modern cosmetology. Daily, long-term exposure to numerous chemicals increases the risk of developing skin conditions that are difficult to treat. This study aimed to discuss the most common causes of contact allergies and irritations, as well as the risks associated with the growing popularity of advanced aesthetic procedures in cosmetology clinics. Allergies are a complex problem and affect both clients and the staff performing aesthetic procedures. Fragrances, preservatives, hair dyes, acrylates, and metals contained in formulations necessitate a constant analysis of treatment product compositions and the implementation of rigorous preventive procedures. Effective prevention should be based on a thorough analysis of product ingredients and adherence to high standards of personal protection.

STRESZCZENIE
Alergie stanowią jedno z istotnych wyzwań zdrowotnych we współczesnej kosmetologii. Codzienna, długotrwała ekspozycja na liczne substancje chemiczne zwiększa ryzyko rozwoju trudnych w leczeniu chorób skóry. Celem pracy było omówienie najczęstszych przyczyn alergii kontaktowych i podrażnień oraz zagrożeń wynikających z popularyzacji zaawansowanych zabiegów estetycznych w gabinetach kosmetologicznych. Alergie stanowią złożony problem i dotykają zarówno klientów, jak i personel wykonujący zabiegi estetyczne. Zawarte w preparatach kompozycje zapachowe, konserwanty, barwniki do włosów, akrylany oraz metale wymuszają stałą konieczność analizy składów preparatów zabiegowych oraz wdrażania rygorystycznych procedur prewencyjnych. Skuteczna profilaktyka powinna opierać się na świadomej analizie składu preparatów oraz przestrzeganiu wysokich standardów ochrony osobistej.
