Analysis of the composition of selected emollients dedicated to atopic skin

ABSTRACT
Atopic dermatitis is a chronic inflammatory disease with complex genetic, environmental and immunological background. An important aspect of treating the lesions is restoring the proper functioning of the epidermal barrier, and the recommended skin care products are emollients. The aim of this study was to analyze the composition of selected eighty cosmetics (including creams, lotions, emulsions and shampoos) intended for people with atopic dermatitis, which were available in pharmacies and online drugstores. Knowledge of the preparations is crucial because inadequate composition can exacerbate the symptoms of dermatosis. It is essential that the products used contain numerous active substances and are free from ingredients that can negatively affect the altered skin.

STRESZCZENIE
Atopowe zapalenie skóry jest przewlekłą chorobą zapalną o złożonym podłożu genetycznym, środowiskowym i immunologicznym. Istotnym aspektem leczenia zmian jest przywrócenie prawidłowego funkcjonowania bariery naskórkowej, a zalecanymi produktami pielęgnacyjnymi są emolienty. Celem pracy była analiza składu wybranych osiemdziesięciu kosmetyków przeznaczonych dla osób z atopowym zapaleniem skóry. W badaniu uwzględniono kremy, balsamy, emulsje i szampony dostępne w aptekach oraz drogeriach internetowych. Wiedza na temat składu preparatów jest bardzo istotna, ponieważ nieodpowiedni skład może nasilić objawy dermatozy. Ważne jest, aby stosowane produkty zawierały liczne substancje aktywne i nie zawierały składników, które mogą negatywnie wpływać na skórę zmienioną chorobowo.
